Leaving

It's often the case that we leave places telling people we'll be back one day, but despite our best intentions it's usually the case that we don't manage to return. I'm sure that won't happen with Inishturk. I have fallen in love with this magical island.

Once again, the weather was on the move today. We enjoyed a dramatic dark sky on the crossing back to Roonagh Pier, which soon cleared to present brilliant sunshine for our quick visit to Silver Strand before we caught another little ferry to Clare Island. After the quiet and remoteness of Inishturk this bigger, slightly more populated island should help the adjustment back to mainland life, like decompressing for fear of getting the bends! This island even has a pub!
