Heaving with birds.
One of my time filling hobbies is taking part in the BTO Garden Bird Watch, a bit of "citizen science" which feeds information in from all over the country. Simply you watch the birds in your garden to your own usual patter and record the largest number of any species you see at one time. This together with what you are feeding is recorded (on line in my case) on a weekly basis.
Looking out today the garden was alive with birds particularly Blue and Great Tits. At one point I counted 8 fledgling Great Tits on or around the feeders. So today's shot just had to be some of the activity.
This evening we attended a meeting in the village hall run by the Local Flood Management Team following the village flooding after storm Desmond and his friends. At long last I begin to get the impression that they are taking notice of us and seriously trying to come up with an answer to improve things. However time will tell.
