Swallows

It's a dilemma.  I am happy that my barn cats keep away the mice in the barn but am always sad when they hunt the baby birds in my bird houses.  The parents of these baby swallows were clever.  They nested in a loose plate that is supposed to cover the wires of a porch light.  We're keeping the lights off for now...
