No trees
We're having a short break.
We're here at Shetland, a little Island off Scotland. It's not a place I would have chosen for a holibobs, i like the sunshine, sangria and a grande beer at 3pm!
We've come with dad, i say we, my teenage daughter and myself. Train to Edinburgh, flight to Sumburgh, hire car to hotel and bobs ur uncle, all sorted. The plane was a little smaller than what we are used to but thankfully it managed its journey well.
It was a pleasant trip here, once arriving we got the car and drove up to the lighthouse where we saw our first puffins and a couple of seals. Gorgeous. It was windy but dry and it was lovely.
Once checked in to our hotel, a little rest then down for something to eat. Teenage daughter was tired so stayed behind at the hotel while dad and myself had a little walk to the museum to have a practice run of our appearance on the web cam on saturday. It worked and we rang people to see us, they obliged and now we are famous (ish).
Dad and mam used to visit Shetland regularly. And today I understood why. It's beautiful, different, the houses are a certain style and there are no trees!
