Fleur de lys ceiling
As usual when in Edinburgh I popped into the Gallery of Modern Art and the Dean. You are guaranteed to find something of interest to look at and they make a super cup of coffee with easy parking in the grounds.
Something the council have managed to completely remove from the city centre.
This time I bring you a picture of the stairwell in the Dean complete with decoration.
"Created over an intensive four-week period by Turner prize-winning artist, Richard Wright for the festival in 2010, the work uses a recurring black, fleur-de-lys design painted over walls, windows and ceiling in varying sizes to create an almost dizzying optical effect"
Loved the view from the basement
This is the view you get on the way to the amazing toilets in my earlier blip.
Enjoy
(worth viewing large to see the ceiling detail)
