Goodbyes :(

Ugh. A tough day. I feel I didn’t really do anything else but saying goodbyes today…..to my favorite nests, my favorite plots in the forest, the lab and, most importantly, the sweet people that were so welcoming these years. With summer kicking in, the field season comes to an end, and with it my field work here, at least for the foreseeable future.

Our move to this country has been and is a crazy ride, which started in this place over three years ago. I learned a lot those years, and am still learning. And as you can see, that includes local cuisine as well – very last moment I baked my first banana bread as goodbye ‘break food’.
