Om nom nom

Not the best of photos, but two new visitors to the backyard today. I have a family of house finches, manned by this flame of a male, that have been visiting. This is the first time I've seen the male. Then the other bird showed up this morning, causing me to go running to my books and the internet exclaiming "what the heck is that??". Turns out it's a female black headed grosbeak, something I've never seen! We used to have evening grosbeaks at the feeder growing up, but this was a new one. Yay for new birds!!!
