Water Strider

 
The “Weyerhaeuser Road” that passes by one side of the Cottage Grove Reservoir provides a most enjoyable bike ride.
It is a paved logging road  (somewhat oxymoronic) that passes through tall Douglas Fir groves on its way further up into the mountains.

10 miles out we stopped for lunch at a creek with a mighty fine swimming hole complete with water striders.
