MEMORIAL BENCH on the Church Green

Went to bed late so got up late.  Very late.  3pm to be precise.  Had a lot of pain in my knees and back so just watched some TV for a while and took paracetamol and codeine.  Felt a bit better around 4.30pm so I walked down to the village.  It was raining but at least it wasn't cold.

Decided to make a detour via the Church Green to take a look at the new bench which was unveiled on 26th June. The lovely carved wooden bench is dedicated to the memory of Lisa Burbidge a local lady who was killed on 26th June last year during the terrorist attack on a hotel whilst she was on holiday in Tunisia. She was one of 38 holidaymakers killed that day.  The plaque at the front lists the names of those killed and 38 white roses were laid in their memory.  The bench was paid for using donations from the public.

I was going to post my blip after the football had finished - but its still going on.  Italy 1  Germany 1.  Extra time.  Now its a penalty shoot out.
