Joe Bonamassa

Tonight's Joe Bonamassa gig was supposed to take place out of doors, at Houghton Tower, near Preston. Joe told the story as follows:

"Two days ago, they said "it's cancelled - the site is unsafe, due to heavy rain. Pulling myself up to my full singer's height I said ''Noooo.  It has been my ambition for 27 years to headline a gig  on a Saturday night in Preston.' So we switched it to the Guild Hall and I would like to thank you all for getting the memo and coming out tonight."

The gig was part of a tour celebrating the music of three British guitar greats - Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.  Joe's excellent band included Reese Williams, a terrific keyboard player and brilliant drummer Anton Fig.

The support act was very good too - British guitar player and singer Joanne Shaw Taylor, seen here with her bass player, by the name of Luigi Casanova.

Oh, and nearby there was a Unique Wine Bar.
