Vigil commemorating the Battle of the Somme...

From 7.30am ... when the whistles blew 100 yearsa ago .... to 7.30pm the people of Clitheroe stepped up for 2 mins silence at the feet of LS Roslyn's powerful sculpture. Councillor Joyce Holgate MBE, Mayor of Ribble Valley, opened and closed the event. After the reading of 'For The Fallen' and The Last Post .. I was in bits and/but very proud of all my colleagues' input into this anniversary event.
