Sugar Season

It was a lovely sunny morning, got my sunblock on and it clouded over and had a shower or two!  It soon passed and a lively hit amd sunny afternoon, with a cooling breeze.

I had a lazy morning and didn't get up until 8am!  As it had turned cloudy, off we set up north for a run and look about.  It started to brighten up and we headed south to Ellis Beach for the day.  It was a lovely day there, had lunch and spent the afternoon on the beach, with some swimming.  It poured down all of last night, so I had a quiet night in, think I'll make up for it tonight :)

We headed north this morning and every where you turn there are millions of sugar cane fields, Australia is 8th largest sugar producer. This is the sugar harvest season in Australia and plenty of it being cut and loaded on trains and heading for the refinery mill.  The farmers have 18 hours to get it from field to mill, before it deteriorates.  These peerie cane trains are spotted along the coast here and heading here to the sugar mill in Mossman.
