Tall Order

The morning after the night before.  Yes Wales flipping did it!  We beat Belgium 3-1 in an impressive performance and are now in the semi-finals of EURO2016.  This is incredible!

I made my way to Cardiff for the cricket with my friends Anne and Richard, but first they wanted to buy a Welsh top.  The shop was doing a roaring trade in them, they must have been selling tens of shirts every minute we were there.  Wales has gone football crazy!

It was a good day at the cricket.  England were playing Sri Lanka in the fifth and final one day international at Sophia Gardens.  The game was very one sided, England were put into bat and accumulated loads of runs without ever really cutting loose, it would be a tall order for Sri Lanka to win.  After lunch Sri Lanka quickly lost most of their top order and were eventually all skittled out.

There was more entertainment in the crowd than on the pitch, there must have been quite a few stag parties as well as the traditional fancy dressers.  There was Baywatch with a voluptuous Pamela Anderson, a load of Admiral Nelsons, a squad of Stormtroopers, a gaggle of Nuns, bananas and monkeys, and many, many more.  At one time they had a race around the ground but eventually the stewards stopped the fun in the interest of health and safety.  Booooo!  Lol!

Night out in Cardiff later before watching the Germany v Italy game.  Cardiff was bouncing!  Imagine what it’s going to be like on Wednesday when we play in the semi-final.
