Ant house

I was clearing up a barrel planter that is rotten and falling apart. At the bottom was an ant colony. I wanted to relocate the colony so thought it would be fun to build them a house with a see through wall. I'm not sure how this will work. Any info on keeping pet ants would be appreciated.
