Fair Isle South - Skadden
The lighthouse at the south end of Fairisle, this is a far more grand building than the lighthouse at the north end of the island, though if course they both do the same job. There were fatalities at this lighthouse which was hit directly by German bomb raids in WWII.
All lighthouses now carry an air of sadness. Once where families lived and dreamt and played all is now automated and the community of the light keepers, and their interactions with local populations, is long gone. Ironically this was the last lighthouse to be manned. Automation took over in 1998.
Blip resident modeller SB thinks that two cornflake packets and a picture of Valerie Singleton will be enough to get things underway.
