Somehow, it's just not the same as a haystack
As I predicted last Wednesday, black plastic was the certain outcome from the big grasscut. In a somewhat similar way to Richard Brautigan's thought that an electric drill is a device for turning three square holes (the electricity socket) into one round hole, it seems that a mower is a device for turning grass into plastic! At any rate, the crop is safe - even if it does look as if it is about to roll down the hill... and, as I write, I can hear the merry sound of more mowing in the distance. More mowing = more big bales = more black plastic scenery. It's the supermarkets that I blame - they started this craze for over-packaging!!
