Good birding day
An early morning walk in poor conditions did produce one good landscape across Elterwater (added as an Extra ) - Good view of Redstarts and spotted Sedge Warbler and Reed Bunting
A Juvenile Green Woodpecker (Adult up the tree keeping quiet for a change!) appeared just outside the Lodge I am staying at.
Later I had a photo fail when a Dipper appeared on the Lodge veranda - I just stood looking at it wandering about ( It was pouring with rain at the time - so I guess it was just keeping dry)
I the evening the rain reduced to drizzle - and I found another Redstart family at Chapel Stile - the juvenile in the Extra photo was on the fencing near the Junior School.
Later a Spotted Flycatcher near Oak Howe.
