Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area

Not the Rock of Gibraltar.  Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area in Wisconsin. We started out from a small parking lot on the Ice Age Trail.  First we went through a heavily wooded area- mostly oaks.  Then we were treated to a meadow.  The trail was firm sand- nice to walk on.  And the trail went up, up, up.  The top trail was along a rocky ledge and the view was stunning.  Trees growing out of rocks. That's Lake Wisconsin in the distance.
