brewery tower
This is the tower of the former Börde Brewery buildings (map). Monument conservation officials declared the beer brewery area as listed, but "someone" (surely the new owner) instructed a company to tear down the buildings without permission, and, what is worse, without any sense for historical buildings. Until the act of destruction was realized and stopped, most structures had been destroyed by the workers, already.
So, the tower is one of the very few remainders of the former industrial complex built in the middle of the 19th century. It's a quite significant landmark because of its tall, high shape (in fact, the tower is higher than is visible here). I personally find it an inartificial, but nevertheless striking building.
