171

Today is a special anniversary which I just had to Blip.
This is Marishes Road Railway Station, between Pickering and Malton, which opened on this day 171 years ago. Part of the York and North Midland Railway until closure in 1965, it used to be called High Marishes, after the village name. Now a private residence most of the buildings remain, apart from the wooden signal box which has re-located to Goathland Station. I know at least one Blipper who will know this site well.
