Old rose

Even though this isn't one of the first early blooms on this rose, and despite all the rain, it seems to be almost perfect. I don't know its name, it was here when we moved in nearly fifty years ago. Some roses endure for a very long time, whereas some newer ones give up the ghost after a couple of years.
Another dry day, that's two in a row! I shall have to start watering. My neighbour has gone away so I have to do hers as well.
The strange car that has been parked outside our house for six weeks disappeared this morning. Cheers from all the neighbours, what a relief to see the back of it. But then it came back again!
