Limestone
Many years ago a new bollard was placed down by the harbour. That was in the days of sailing ships. The bollard was made from locally quarried limestone. Time and the elements have taken their toll and the soft limestone now resembles one of those cheeses riddled with holes or maybe it looks more like the surface of the moon to you. That's the way I see it.
