Ready for the 4th of July Parade

Many small towns in the US have local parades with homemade floats and vintage cars. This 57 Chev Corvette belongs to our daughter in law's Mom & Dad....so every year the kids wear their red, white and blue and ride in that car.....they throw out candy to the crowds that line the streets of Rockaway Beach. The town swells to 40-50 times the usual population of summer weekends. The parade  lines up right in front of our house.  Everyone gathers at our house for breakfast the day of the parade and we watch the parade together. Very fun.....everyone ends up with bags of candy....the favorite is always the chocolate! Someone left their peanut M & Ms at our house...MY FAVORITE....so they are now in my tummy.  There was a big fireworks display on the beach tonight....but we didn't even go out our front door where we can watch it.....we were too tired. Guess we really are getting old.  :-))
