And so I quietly set about writing up reports (lots and lots to do); before heading out on a slight mission at lunchtime into some fresh air and exercise.

Then more reports, phone calls and e mails.

Quit about 4.30; met her off the bus; she was armed with flowers and whisky. What more could a boy want on his birthday?

So we wandered home; picked at smoked salmon, then tuna on a pear and fennel salad with added chargrilled courgette.

Then cake. A raspberry / blueberry lime drizzle cake.

A gentle evening of chatting and half watching TV.
