Backblip

After having lunch with Eleanor and Kenny at the golf club, we watched them duffing taking their first shots off the first tee, before Ele and I went in search of a fairly new Farm Shop cafe that I just found out about this morning.

After a pleasant drive through lovely countryside, we found ourselves at Broadslap Fruit Farm and Cafe in the Earn Valley.   If you're feeling energetic you can pick your own delicious strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants.   Given my creaky hips we just headed straight for the farm shop and cafe :-))

Two lattes with scone with butter and jam for Ele (they gave her two scones) and millionaire's shortbread for me (it just beat the freshly baked lemon drizzle cake that will still warm from the oven)

We spent a pleasant hour there before having a wander round the shop.  It's not enormous but it does sell Gin & Tonic popcorn so that put it into my top 5 of quirky retail experiences.  

Back home and the guys returned from the golf.  Kenny slightly grumpy and David full of the joys as he played really well.  It doesn't happen often so we let him go on about it.

K & E left quite quite sharp after dinner as we were having an early night in preparation for the early rise to get to hospital for Alan's gastrostomy in the morning.  He's hyper about it again.  Fingers crossed.  

Today would have been my grandpa's 100th birthday.  I miss him everyday.  Happy Birthday Grandpa.    i love you and know you are always near.
