Hung out to dry

I had great time snapping some bug shots in Home Park this morning - until my camera battery died! It's the time of year when dragonflies are emerging from their nymphal casts and this common darter(?) appeared to be getting used to the outside world and drying its wings in the long grass by Wick Pond. It might not be the sharpest shot but I was pleased with the overall look having spent a fair bit of time crawling in the grass to get it. The extras are one of four still cute looking cygnets on the pond, a pair of mating damsel flies and a red soldier beetle clinging tenaciously to the top of a dead grass stalk.
