Visiting an Old Friend

I took myself to the Museum of Scotland this morning, a place I've loved for as long as I can remember. 

This is one of my favourite exhibits - it's the old original lamp from the lighthouse on Inchkeith, which lies in the Firth of Forth just north of Edinburgh. My childhood bedroom window looked out over the water and I used to lie in bed and watch the light flashing, this very lamp.  

Now the whole thing is automated and the old one is a museum piece.  No witticisms, please.
