Often that she throws me a total curveball but tonight she did. Distance night at swimming. They set them off and their staff just tallied their lengths. If asked, I would have said fairly confidently that she'd get 500m. I didn't expect 800m. She just plodded on for 40 solid minutes. I didn't know it was distance night so hadn't got my purse. She was in the toilet and her friend offered to get her certificate/badge for me. She was so chuffed when she saw me with it. It's already sewn on her special towel ready for show and tell tomorrow.
