Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2016 Wednesday -- The View

About 8:00 p.m. this evening we drove along Lucerne Street to the spot where we could get an overview of the Estero Bay -- the Cayucos pier, the PG&E power plant stacks, Morro Rock, and a fishing boat glowing in the final sunlight of this day were in view.

This has been a busy day -- I stayed in the house cleaning and Mr. Fun worked outside painting a new backyard gate.

Late afternoon we watched whales breaching and fluking. It's nothing less than spectacular to look up from what we are doing here at the house and see the entertainment the whales are producing.

Later this afternoon, actually early evening, one of our three builders, Chris, came to check on a few things here that needed attention. The pot-filler above our range needed a new "O" ring and several of our kitchen cupboard hinges needed adjustment.

When Chris left, the two of us went to Duckie's Chowder House for dinner. I stray from our vegan/plant-based diet and order Fish & Chips, but Mr. Fun orders 3 sides -- a bowl of black beans, a bowl of rice, and a bowl of steamed veggies. He blends them altogether and raves about how delicious they are.

Before we left the restaurant, we met Mo and Jo. Their gear made it obvious they are walking somewhere -- so Mr. Fun and I asked, "Where are you two walking to?" Their answer was fascinating. They are walking 1,200 miles on California's Coastal Trail from the California/Oregon border to the California/Mexico border. Their purpose and goal is to make others aware of the Coastal Trail. Check their page at facebook.com/mojocoastwalk
and look at their photos from their last few days on the Big Sur Coastline.

From California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
