Living in Manchester

By Theboysmum

T is for.....

Town Hall.

Predictable but there is no competition.
Alfred Waterhouse's 1877 masterpiece is impossible to do justice to in one blip.

It is indescribably gorgeous both inside and out and even has an internal courtyard with cobbled passages.
Due to it's similarity to the palace of westminster it is not unusual to see film crews unloading their gear and using the building as a film set.
The BBC series, State of Play, was filmed here and at Granada Studios.
In 2008, it was used in the filming of Sherlock Holmes and in 2011 was a location for The Iron Lady.

Of course it has been blipped many times before.
nwmcr captured the impressive clock tower and ellisroger blipped this magical interior shot

There is a more reflective view here

there is more of my Manchester stuff here

Very busy at work today so I am going to try and get some sleep.

Happy Monday people x
