Glenfinnan Viaduct

Glenfinnan Viaduct from the front carriage on the Jacobite Steam Train.

Picked Birgit & Maddie up at the hotel at 8am and Jamie drove us to Fort William.

On our trip in we stopped to help motorists that had hit the curb with such force they blew 2 tires and were stranded on a blind corner. I walked down the road a ways and signaled the traffic to slow so they did not barrel round the curve and into the stranded car. Even after the police got there he asked that I continue until he got adequate signs up along the road.

Birgit, Maddie, Lillie & I rode the Jacobite from Fort William to Mallaig and back again. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and was surprised at just how many people were stationed at various points along the way to watch the train go by.

When we alighted in Ft William, Jamie was waiting for us. Birgit has been met by a friend and is off to Inverness for a couple of days. On our journey home we got stuck behind a convoy of wind farm parts making the journey home slow. We were so glad to see them turn right where we turn left!

Another good day, another late night!
