King .....
..... of the moor.
This evening has been the last training session on the moor with Spartan for this summer as he is off to Greece until September ( lucky him :-) ). As always it was a tough, but extremly fun session. There were the regulars and a couple of new atendees at the session. The training had more running than usual with fast uphill runs broken by a steady downhill and flat pace ending up at the twelve apostles on the moor.
We were put through various tortures at the twelve apostles, including long planques and the dreaded superman move, but luckily no human sacrifices today. This photo was taken as we set off back down to the cow and calf, the return run included stops promted by Spartans whistle, where we all had to stop where we were and do a minute or so of various excercises ( push ups, squats etc ).
At the end of the session Spartan recieved a gift of a book on midges ( his nemisis on the moor this year ) and some citronella soap to help deter them. A few up us then went for drinks and a cheese board at the cow & calf hotel to mark the 'end of term'.
We're all going to miss Spartan and his Monday night sessions for the next month or so but are looking forward to new forms of torture from him when he returns from Greece in September. So today's blip is dedicated to Spartan .....
..... King of the moor.
