Mating Dragonflies and Nesting Grebes
Our last day here in Bavaria so a flat walk around a couple of lakes, passing wildflower meadows and forests. It was very warm whenwe set off and 29C by the time we drove home late afternoon. We saw lots of butterflies, bees and dragonflies including this pair mating on reeds right on the edge of Barmsee Lake. Just before Rik spotted them we'd been watching a pair of Great Crested Grebes building a nest. It was wonderful to watch and we actually spotted eggs that had already been layed. They seemed to be covering them up as well building their nest, see extra.
We've had a wonderful holiday with amazing weather. We'll be going home with suntans as well as lots of happy memories and hundreds of photos to upload at home. Thanks for all the stars and hearts for the last fortnight I really appreciate it. I should have comments back on after the weekend and catch up with journals too.
