Monet's Garden
After a great crossing yesterday, we arrived in Giverny at about 4.30pm and it was 30 degrees! Our hotel is on the same road as Monet's Gardens and I'd arranged a visit for today. Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed in the gardens and we can't leave them in the hotel room on their own, so Alan took the boys for a walk while I went in the gardens.
The smell of the flowers was amazing, but the highlight of the day was the visit to the famous Lily Pond - Le Bassin Aux Nympheas. Thanks to Marilyn, who has leant me her Nikon Df, I've got some amazing shots. Obviously I'm not used to the camera, so I've had a few over exposed pictures, but on the whole I'm really happy with them and I've put some in my extras.
The visit also includes entry into Monet's house which was very interesting. Then this afternoon we went to the nearby town of Vernon which was lovely.
Tomorrow we drive down to the Loire Valley where we've rented a house for the week and it's got a hot tub in the garden, I can't wait!
Thank you for putting yesterday's blip on the third spot of the 'Popular' page x
