Anna Somerville-gallery opening -&Collective
Gallery openings are always a great social occasion, a chance to catch up with old friends.
This evening was no exception. Sometimes `I think this is the whole purpose of gallery openings to act as a catalyst bringing people together.
Tonight it was the turn of Anna Somerville whose solo exhibition, Paintscapes, opened at the &Collective gallery in Bridge of Allan.
Anna lives in Edinburgh and she is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. Her big, bold expressive paintings have a painterly quality about them and art critic Colin Gleadell compared her to ' Turner at his most fluid and some of the more abstract American Expressionists'.
