Gliders
Our last day in Yorkshire. We had a wander round Helmsley without the children, which meant we had time to browse the shops. We bought a painting from the little gallery, and I got a silver and amber ring, so it was an expensive morning!
Later in the afternoon, we went for a walk along Sutton Bank again, this time towards the glider club. We watched a couple of gliders being catapulted into the air, before spiralling away. It's a violent start to what looks like a very peaceful way to fly.
Having exhausted the pub dining in Helmsley, I searched Trip Advisor for other nearby places to eat, and found the White Horse at Ampleforth. The best meal we've had all week, cozy wee pub, really friendly staff. A good end to a relaxing week.
