Pyramidal Orchid

Anacamptis pyramidalis

Nanny and Grampy and Roo went of to the gardens at Alnwick. Dogs aren't allowed, so Tess and I walked to Beadnell across the back of the dunes. Where we found lots of wildflowers, including this pyramid orchid. The air was dense with butterflies and moths and there were more larks than I have ever seen in one place before!

We visited the lime kilns [obligatory!] and walked back across the beaches, probably the most beautiful in the world, full of life.
