Light...........
.......Nelson 2016
This is the 3rd Festival of Light – the first time we have gone and we weren’t disappointed.
The exhibition features 62 installations scattered through the Queens Garden and the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology campus – situated close to each other, actually, on opposite sides of the street.
I have chosen a Fire Dancer, one of several, as my main blip. Their skill and their movements to music was magical and a joy to watch.
Extra Photos
1 – Silhouette of the public as they walk towards an entrance within the Queens Garden
2 – A large Paper Animal
3 – Lightbulb Men. Holding buckets to collect donations.
4 – Brook Waimarama Sanctuary. Community & School groups have created a forest of native birds & insects that glow in the dark. This is a small piece of a colourful display.
5 – A dancer, part of a group. These were created by knitting nylon fishing line.
6 – Giant Tap made from recycled water bottles with a young lad standing in the 'archway'
7 – One of three giant Moa birds with a child to show size. Feathers are made from recycled milk bottles
And I want to extend a very big thank you for the many stars and hearts for yesterday’s flower in ‘shades of yellow’. It was one that was glowing all alone in the sunlight beside the beach pathway.
