The motorway and the ferry fairies were very kind.  Managed to drive to Oban in 8 hours, in time for the 2pm ferry and I got one of the last car spaces.  The animals were pleased to see me - the cat threw up and Jess rolled in something disgusting on our quick walk round Aros Loch.  Hey ho, it's like I've never been away.
