Think, try, share

Oscar

This is my son Oscar. I captured him whilst he was playing on the iPad.

The inspire here is all of the old documentaries I have seen lately about the Diamond Jubilee, the Queen early in her reign and the Olympics in 1948. I really love their texture and colours. They have a really nice cine feel.

I used a new grey back drop which really neutralises the background. It is one of those pop up ones, comes in a bag and you have to wrestle it back in. The thing is once you get it it's very easy to do. I was going to get a black or white one but opted for the grey. They are about £45 on Amazon.

In terms of light I opted to use my SB 600 speed light. I am starting to learn a bit more about flash having recently picked up Joe Mc Nally's 'The Hot Shoe Diaries.'

Tiny aperture at 1.8, main thing is that I got Oscar's eyes.
