Embroided floral kneeler
Today after some retail therapy in Exeter I revisited St Swithun's Church in Woodbury. I had mentioned in a previous blip, two days ago, that the kneelers in the church here are embroided with wild flowers taken from Revd Dr William Keble Martin's book “The Concise British Flora in Colour”. A copy of the book is kept under glass in the church with the original coloured illustrations. They are much superior to the printed version of the book which was also on display. They also had a set of six Commemorative stamps, celebrating British Wild Flowers that he had designed and were issued in 1967.
