Are you looking at me?

I spotted a pair of (young?) blackbirds doing this yesterday and I was worried that they were injured as they stayed put for quite some time.  It turns out they were perfectly alright and they were back again today.

They were either sunning or cooling themselves; I have other shots of this one fluffing up her breast feathers and settling down on the gravel as if she were settling in a nest.

A brief downpour put paid to their relaxation session...
