Gooseberry jam, pie or fool. All among my favourite things to eat. But unfortunately shaving all the hairs off before cooking is fiddly and takes quite a time.

Set me to thinking about the name. Now whilst birds are eating our Redcurrants enthusiastically, I have no recollection of seeing geese eating the gooseberries. Time to consult the SOD.
