Spirited Away
Greyfriars Cemetery in Perth opened in 1580 on the site of a destroyed monestary.
The oldest of these stones dates back to 1580 when Greyfriars opened, however many stones of the 16th and 17th centuries were lost when Cromwell took them for use in building his citadel on the South Inch. Many of the stones have intricate decorations / artwork on them which depicts the occupation of the person interred.
