Golden Ringed Dragonfly

A different find in the porch this morning! Measuring almost 10cm in length and wing span I was I suppose somewhat relieved that this was an X dragonfly .... but an amazing creature all the same. After some internet research I discover it normally breeds in acidic rivers and streams of all sizes - given all the rain recently we might be seeing a few more of these this summer in Bishops Glen!
