A glimpse of the past

This shot is of two title deeds dating from the eighteenth century. They were brought along as visual aids by our Rotary speaker tonight, who is a solicitor in Fraserburgh as well as one of our members. It was fascinating to learn about the feudal system and the udal system, and how Scots law differs from English. The material is vellum and the ink derived from oak gall. That's why they have survived for centuries!
