Stop and smell the flowers
A big thank you for all the stars, hearts and lovely comments that have put yesterday's golden-ringed dragonfly on the front page of popular, I'm very chuffed.
An early start in the mancave today getting ready to launch the ABC's annual conference. We kept one eye on the weather and between the hard showers we took a delighted pooch up onto the Scar. The moorland is turning purple now as the heather blooms, but in today's wind it didn't feel much like summer.
The early start afforded me the time to tag along on a trip to visit M in the care home who was on great form. It was lovely to see her all animated discussing the success of a fellow Scot in the tennis. A good memory of her to carry off to the Alps.
On the drive back we pulled over at Crooklands to admire the water flowers on the Lancaster canal - we weren't the only ones.
