Blue afternoon
Not psychologically blue, you understand - unless the news flashes about the latest lunatic appointments to high office that kept pinging into my phone while I was out - but a lovely blue seascape to lift and soothe in the early evening. The decorator and plasterer had left for the day, we'd cleaned a path through the house for the umpteenth time, and we'd summoned enough energy to have a walk to clear the dust out of our noses.
This shows the Arran hills peeping over Bute, while the eye of faith can just make out PS Waverley standing off Rothesay pier until the ferry leaves. The blues of sea and sky were intense; the scents of vegetation along the shore a pleasant change from wallpaper paste. My extra photo is one of the Rothesay ferry heading from Wemyss Bay; I always marvel at the robust, proper ships on that route compared with the Dunoon provision.
They have good coffee on board too ...
