Another Languedoc year...

By SweetApricots

Go!

Our lovely, talented, winemaker pal Simon from Domaine des Trinites came to visit today. I'd asked if he could give me his honest opinion of our 2011 wines. I was a bit worried about a couple of them and Simon gave us a couple of helpful pointers.

Encouragingly, he declared our 2011 Cinsault Carignan blend 'lovely, fruity - delicious'. So we'll soon be bottling it.

That's a relief.

On Friday evening we went to supper with another pal, Rosemary George. During the course of the evening many wines were opened and we were asked what we thought. (Rosemary's a Master of Wine and expert on Languedoc and Chablis) One red wine arrived decanted and perfectly chilled. We all liked it. "Whose is it?" I asked. "Yours" came the reply. I was shocked that I hadn't recognised our 2009 Cuvée Solésio and, not having opened a bottle for months, thrilled at how well it had developed.

So I have my mojo back and I'm excited about this year's forthcoming harvest.
