Multiverse...

Up and over to Porty to collect the kids for a flying visit down to Da Shire, to hang out with Kate and family for one last time before they fly back to the States at the end of the week.

We rendezvoused at Charles Jencks' Crawick Multiverse, a new art installation in the hills of Dumfries and Galloway, just outside of Sanquhar, and a few miles north of Portrack, the house where Charles Jencks built his Garden of Cosmic Speculation.

We weren't very lucky with the weather.  We were battered with wind and rain as we scaled the slopes of the multiverse, and then, just as we were leaving, the sun came out and the rain stopped.  Typical.

It was then on to Drumlanrig Castle and the adventure playground.  The 5 kids (age range from 13-3) all had a ball, and the adults (all six of us, ages not necessary) enjoyed the sun, picnic bench, food and chat.

We then had a wander round the gardens, and then back to the cars to say our goodbyes.  I really miss not seeing Kate for a couple of years at a time.  Goodbyes are hard.

Iain, my Mum and the SBG then headed back to my Mum's house for a speedy dinner, after which we piled into the car and headed back to Edinburgh.  A mix of rain and sun gave us some cracking rainbows on the way.

Home, bed for the SBG, gin for us, and then bed.

I'm done with travelling for a few days I think.

oh yeah - extra photos....
